About me
I have had a passion for the natural world for as long as I can remember. Growing up in a small village among the rolling hills of west Dorset, it started with an interest then an obsession with birdwatching (my binoculars rarely left my neck). This developed into wanting to see and learn about all creatures great and small. Then progressed into a desire to photograph the encounters I was having, so I could show family and friends. I borrowed my dad's Practica MTL50 with a 135mm lens. I used colour slide film and projected my images onto a screen which barley fitted in the kitchen. This was the beginning of my nature photography journey.

I live with my wife, Emily and our two young daughters in the small hamlet of Higher Kingcombe in West Dorset. It's a beautiful part of the world and we are lucky to live next door to the national nature reserve of Kingcombe Meadows and Powerstock Common. I have always loved the outdoors and have worked as a gardener for over twenty years. When I'm not taking photos and have some spare time (which is rare with a young family!) I love to go walking, especially on Dartmoor.
